At Animal Clinic of Woodruff, we loving shining a light on our team members. They are the heart and soul of all that we do! This month, we’re highlighting the wonderful Dr. Zach Brown!
Dr. Zach was born right here in Woodruff, SC and was raised on a cattle farm. Throughout his life, he has always enjoyed working with animals. During his second year of college at Clemson University, he decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. He would later receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) from Mississippi State University.
Returning to the Spartanburg area truly felt like “coming home,” as Dr. Zach and his wife Allison moved back to his old stomping grounds, his family farm. Their son Briggs is now three years old, and loves telling people that his Daddy gets to “play with dogs and cats all day!” Dr. Zach and his wife are expecting another baby boy any day now!
At Animal Clinic of Woodruff, Dr. Zach shares his expertise in soft-tissue surgery, theriogenology, emergency care, and internal medicine for cats and dogs.
As Dr. Zach reflects on funny moments during his years as a vet, he can’t help but recall his time working in large animal practice. He recalls, “horses can find their way into some interesting situations. While small animal med is both challenging and interesting, it’s much safer than working with a wild, 1000 pound animal!”
Back at the farm, in his spare time, you might find Dr. Zach surrounded by his dogs Lena and Maddox as he works in the wood shop or cooks barbeque for his family and friends.
