Holiday Pet Gift Guide

All throughout the year, our pets share their unconditional love. The holidays provide a wonderful opportunity to show your pets, as well as fellow pet owners that you care. Here are a few last-minute gift ideas that will bring pure joy to your favorite furry friends (and their beloved owners too!)

Pet Bed

There are endless types of pet beds to choose from these days, from memory foam doggie sofas to elevated kitty apartments. No matter what kind of bed you give your pet this holiday season, a new place to lay their head is sure to bring them a renewed sense of comfort, and a sense of place that they can call their own. Plus they’ll feel extra special the moment they lay their head down each night on their new favorite spot.

Personalized Pet Portraits

Pet Portraits are becoming quite the home decor accessory, plus it’s a special way to turn your love for your pet pal…into art! Many websites allow you to upload an image of your dog or cat, and customize the look to your style.

Another fun artsy trend is to have your pet’s silhouette memorialized in black and white. This adds a classy touch plus an element of surprise to your home.

Perhaps you’d rather DIY your gift? You can create your own work of art in minutes online by simply uploading a favorite photo of your furry pal. Canvas-wrapped or framed, dressed in costume or simply Fido being Fido, your portrait will capture the essence of your pet’s personality, while giving you a keepsake for life!

All of these gift ideas make incredible (unsuspecting) gifts for pet lovers, and we just love the idea of your pet looking up to see his likeness on the wall!

Toys and more Toys!

Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a new favorite toy. From a good old-fashioned rubber dog ball to the latest advancements in mobile cat toys, gifts like these are sure to keep your pets active and engaged for hours.

Cats love the thrill of the hunt, while dogs never outgrow their love of chewing. Many new chew toys are now made of nylon so they stand up to even the mightiest of chewers. Additionally, dogs never seem to outgrow their love of squeaker toys. Some are even made with “ultra-sonic” squeaker sounds so your dogs can still enjoy the thrill of the “squeak” (while you don’t have to!)

Any gift that feeds a pet’s natural instincts is sure to make them feel loved this season.

A Trip to the Dog Groomer

They may or may not love the experience, but pets always feel better after a good bath and a brush. Maybe it’s the nail trimming or the new bows in your poodle’s hair, but some dogs even seem to walk with an extra pep in their step after a trip to the groomer! While you’re there, book regular sessions (every 4-6 weeks for long-haired breeds, and 8-12 weeks for short-haired breeds.) Your pet will thank you!

Looking to save a little cash yet still give your pup that fresh-clean feel? Some chains are even offering low-cost DIY washes in their pet stalls complete with shampoo, conditioner, brushes, and “fur” dryers. Most wash stalls are customizable for your dog’s size, and you can’t beat a $10 salon-like wash!

Just make sure all of your dog’s vaccinations are up to date before they enter common spaces where other pets are gathering.
